Title: The Evolution of Racism Through the Lens of Lynching Rhetoric and Memory.

Tammy Blue is the 2020 Outstanding Graduate Student Award for History recipient, awarded by UAB’s History Department.

Heritage Hall – The University of Alabama at Birmingham

Tammy was appointed Head Student Editor for the 2020 edition of UAB’s Vulcan Historical Review! The 24th Edition will be published in September, 2020.

The paper, “Et. Cetera: Differently-abled Students in the Writing Center” will be presented by Tammy at the 2020 Southeastern Writing Center Association (SWCA) Conference in Birmingham, Alabama on February 20-22.

Tammy presented her paper, “Surviving Rough Justice” at the invitation of the GAAAH hosted by the University of Memphis.



Tammy’s article, “Blood on the Great Seal of Alabama” was published in UAB’s 2019 Vulcan Historical Review magazine. It was very well received when presented at the AHA conference in April 2019. Tammy also had the opportunity to act as a visiting editor for this year’s edition.
